William "Bill" Ray Lemay

William “Bill” R. Lemay, 68, of Cicero, IN, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was born in Terre Haute, IN on October 28, 1956, to the late Claude Ray and Delilah M. Shew Lemay.

He worked as superintendent for Reith-Riley, Crider & Crider, and Berns Road Construction.

Bill began his life on a farm outside of Shirkeville, IN, where he acquired his great work ethic which continued throughout his life. He initially attended West Vigo High School. The family then moved to Westfield, where Bill graduated from Westfield High School in 1975. In his early working years, Bill traveled to different jobs installing cable TY and working home construction. His career in road construction spanned over 40 years before retiring in June of 2023.

Bill married Carol, his first wife, and together they had a daughter, Ashley. Bill loved her with all his heart and was very proud of the family she and Adam created. He married his second wife Michelle in 1990. In that marriage, Bill gained a son, Scott which he was also proud of the family Scott built with his wife, Monica. Bill and Michelle lived on 14 acres in Cicero, IN where the family still reside. Bill did not always admit to the fact he enjoyed and appreciated the many furry friends he had through the years.

Bill will be missed beyond measure by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Michelle Markusfield; daughter, Ashley (Adam) Hawkins; son, Scott (Monica) Fiene; grandsons, Abel Hawkins, Tyler Hawkins and Drake Fiene; granddaughters, Anna-Kayte Hawkins, Runa, Vera, Alia, Ezra, and Tova Fiene; sister, Cathy (Phil) Jave; and brothers, Mike Lemay.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will take place at a later date.
