William Richard Armstrong, 31, of Westfield, passed away December 21, 2018. He was born in Indianapolis on May 2, 1987, son of Thomas and Lisabeth (Dickinson) Armstrong.
William attended The Orchard School, North Central High School and Ball State University.
William loved his friends and family, first. His extended family was very dear to him, and he cherished the time he had with them. He was a passionate, competitive athlete and in 2004 won the Indiana High School Athletic Association State Doubles Championship. He loved watching the Pacers and Colts, and never missed an opportunity to share his commentary and analysis on how they were playing. He was a competitor at heart, on the court, at the poker table, and at the work place. He was a kind and caring person who had a great sense of humor and always a dog by his side.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Beth; brothers, Mikael (Laura) Armstrong and Henry Armstrong; paternal grandparents, James and Leena-Maija Armstrong and maternal grandparents, Richard and Helen Dickinson; niece, Ava Armstrong and nephew, Maguire Armstrong; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Meridian Street United Methodist Church, 5500 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis. There will be a reception following in the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William, may be given to the National Junior Tennis League of Indianapolis or Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN).
