Valerie Rose Hogston, 59, of Indianapolis, passed away February 12, 2021. She was born November 29, 1961 in Indianapolis.
Valerie attended Carmel High School and later received her master’s degree from IUPUI School of Nursing.
Having compassion for the homeless community in Indianapolis, Valerie was empathic and reached out, giving assistance whenever possible. She often gave presentations to urge others to join in her crusade to help. Valerie was a past member of the Board of Directors of the Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (CHIP).
Valerie enjoyed camping and boating on Lake Monroe. She and her companion Marlon appreciated spending winters together in Florida. Valerie had a soft heart for rescue cats and doted on each one she cared for.
In addition to her mother, Blanche Archer Hogston, Valerie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Ethel Archer.
Survivors include her significant other, Marlon Dean; aunt, Helen Filipow; and uncle, Ed Archer.
A Committal Service will take place on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 1:30 pm in Carmel Cemetery.
