Timothy Wayne Almack passed away February 23, 2024, at the age of 69. He was born August 29, 1954, to the late Earl Almack and Betty (Derry) Almack in Alexandria, Indiana.
Tim is survived by his wife, Leslie Almack (Forbes) and his three children, Benjamin Almack (Lauren), Isaac Almack, and Nathan Almack. He grew up with eight siblings, Regina Culbertson (Tim), Mike Almack (Cheryl), Bill Almack (Jodie), Cecilia Adkins (Gary), Julie Terry (deceased), Earl Almack (Joan), Dave Almack (Laurie) and Della Kaufman (Tom) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School in 1972, and Manchester University in 1976, where he studied accounting, played as a linebacker on the football team, and currently sits on the Board of Directors.
Tim had a long and successful career at Katz, Sapper, & Miller (KSM). He was as humble as they come, so many are not aware of the multiple boards he was asked to be on and numerous awards he garnered, such as the Indiana Motor Truck Association Allied Industry Chairman, Truckload Carriers Association Board of Directors, Kentucky Motor Truck Association Board of Directors, Truckload Carriers Association Champions Club, and co-founder of the Scopelitis Garvin Light Hanson & Feary Transportation Owners’ Roundtable. Tim loved his work and many of his coworkers and clients became lifelong friends. The past few years, Tim read and researched ways to improve company performance in businesses who are expanding rapidly and seeing decreased production and performance from employees. He discovered the Scaling Up program, and after completing rigorous coursework, he joined the ranks of more than 200 fellow Certified Scaling Up Coaches who have earned the prestigious certification.
Above all else, Tim’s pride and joy was his family. He loved being a husband and father, coaching his boys in every sport possible, introducing them to all genres of music, and demonstrating with his actions how to live a meaningful life. Tim was also a phenomenal athlete, ranging from football to cross country, biking, to golf, in which he recently became a part of the hole-in-one club. Despite the ups and downs, he was a diehard Indiana sports fan and Carnegie Mellon football fan and attended as many Colts and CMU games as possible with his family. While Tim left us far too soon, the impact he had on our community will be felt for years to come. He was a founding member of the Evan R. Hansen Legacy Foundation, Secretary of the Board of CYO of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, and an avid volunteer at the SMG food pantry.
Tim was a beacon of kindness, selflessness, work ethic, and compassion. He was well loved and will be so missed.
