She continued her education at the University of Evansville where she became a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha National Sorority in 1966 and graduated from the School of Nursing in 1969.

Following graduation, she continued her training in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps as an officer.   She was stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, TX, Ft. Benning, GA and Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, IN before her honorable discharge in 1970.

Sherry worked as a Registered Nurse for several medical groups, the last being Beacon Obstetrics & Gynecology before retiring in 2000.

The smaller riverboats were favored especially when cruising in Alaska, and the Danube river.  Additional cruises included the Rhine river where they attended the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany, the Volga from St. Petersburg to Moscow and on the Porto in Portugal and Spain.  Other travels took them Italy, Ireland, Scotland, England and a more recent trip to Paris and London.
