Norma Jean (Reeves) Gossett

Norma Jean Gossett (Reeves) 93, died Monday July 31, 2023 in the assisted living facility Bickford of Carmel, Indiana.

Mrs. Gossett was born March 23, 1930 in Danville, Illinois, daughter of Hobert and Louise (Goodwine) Reeves. 

She attended elementary school in Danville, Illinois and graduated from Potomac (Illinois) High School in 1947. Norma attended the Presbyterian Church. 

On August 14, 1947, Norma married Jack Lucien Gossett in the United Brethren Church of Potomac. They were married 60 years.

Mrs. Gossett worked in retail in Rantoul, Illinois. Her employment included Zanders Super Market, Ben Franklin, Air Force Army Exchange Service at Chanute Air Force Base - 20 years. Following retirement, Norma worked for Disney World in Orlando, FL for 10 years.

Survivors include her two children, Dwight (Alice) Gossett and daughter, Denise Ann (Bob) Wright; grandchildren, Tim (Jenny) Gossett, Ryan (Michelle) Gossett, Kelly Gossett, Robert Wright, and Wendy (Michael) Wright Bowling; 13 great grandchildren, and one great-grand grandson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gossett was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Gossett; son, DuWayne E. Gossett; grandson, Shane Michael Bayman; and sister, Marguerite Reeves Sowards.

The family will have a private family graveside service in Potomac, Illinois.
