Mary Ann (O'Rourke) Kleyle

Mary Ann O’Rourke Kleyle went home to Jesus on March 5, 2023, at age 80. She was born to Florence and Bernard O’Rourke on July 1, 1942 in Boston Massachusetts.  She had a lifelong love of learning and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Emmanuel College in Boston, University of Massachusetts with a Master’s in education, before attending Butler University in Indianapolis, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science.

After working as a Quality Consultant for Regulatory Compliance and QA Oversight of Global systems, Mary Ann retired from Eli Lily.

Mary Ann met her husband, Bob Kleyle on a blind date 59 years ago and never looked back.  They shared a love of travel, which was expressed by the many photographs displayed in their home of African wildlife and Grizzly Bears from their photographic holidays.

Mary Ann had a variety of interests including visiting her family in Boston, spending time with her grandchildren, and walking with Bob and their dog.  She was an avid reader and volunteered her time as a Big Sister.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brother, Dan O’Rourke.

Survivors include her devoted husband, Bob Kleyle; two children, Ann-Marie (Ross) Gottlieb and Tom (Stephanie) Kleyle; four grandchildren, Jacob and Rachel Gottlieb, Gwen Hribernik and TJ Kleyle; four sisters, Bernadette, Kathy, Gerry, Irene, and brother, Tom.

Family and friends will gather Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11 am in the narthex of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church,  where the Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12 noon.

Burial will take place immediately following in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis.

In memory of Mary Ann, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the service.
