Mark John Filipow

Mark John Filipow, 71, of Plainfield, IN, passed away August 28, 2022 of natural causes. Mark was born to Walter and Lorraine Filipow in Chicago, IL on March 22, 1951. Following graduation from Carmel High School, Mark continued his education at Butler University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree.

As an avid hobbyist photographer, Mark loved capturing memories of those he spent time with, as well as his beloved Butler Bulldogs.  He regularly attended both Plainfield United Methodist and Plainfield Christian Church, where he was actively involved and made deep bonds with fellow parishioners. 

Survivors include his son, Sean Filipow; brother, Keith Filipow, and sister Carol Pigg.

In memory of Mark’s life, a service will be held March 18, 2023 at Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 1305 Bridgeport Road, Indianapolis, IN.  Ken Loudenback, pastor of Bridgeport United Methodist, was a dear friend to Mark and will officiate the Celebration of Life Service. 

Mark’s ashes will be spread in a private service at a later date.
