Marjorie "Marge" Eleanor (Ludwig) Hubert

Marjorie “Marge” Eleanor Hubert, 88, of Carmel, passed away August 12, 2025 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born June 22, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of Oscar and Betty Ludwig.

As a graduate of Peabody High School, Pittsburgh, Marge continued her education at Penn State University where she received her bachelor's degree in education in 1959. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.

Marge married Kenneth Hubert on July 29, 1961, and were blessed with a wonderful life together of 64 years. She began her teaching career in Pittsburgh and Paolia, PA, Fairfax, VA, and finally in Carmel at Peter Rabbit Preschool before retiring in 2000.

Being gifted with a beautiful singing voice, Marge sang with the Carmelaires choral group. She enjoyed 40 years of singing in the church choir at Carmel United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Marge looked forward to the monthly outings with the ladies who were known as the Dinner Belles. She was also actively involved with the Carmel Wednesday Literary Club. Marge enjoyed reading, working on her daily crossword puzzles and patiently putting together 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by sister and brother in-law, Jane and Rich Gibbs; father and mother in-law, Anton and Adelaide Hubert.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Ken Hubert; children, Laurie (Grant) Reed, Kurt (Kathy) Hubert, and Jennifer (Earl) Gay; grandchildren, David Hubert, Mark Hubert, Lydia Gay, and Jeremy Gay; brother-in-law, Dave Hubert, and sister-in-law, Judi Hubert.

Family and friends will gather from 4pm-6pm on Friday, August 22, 2025 in the Carmel United Methodist Church, 621 S. Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Marge, are encouraged to Carmel United Methodist Church, Music Ministry, 621 S Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032. Envelopes will be available at the church.
