Marjorie Ann (Garrison) Hartzell, 90, of Indianapolis, entered her eternal home August 18, 2022. She was born August 7, 1932, in Lawrence, Indiana to the late Charles Lee and Deliliah Francis (Hopkins) Garrison.
She graduated from Lawrence High School, attended one year of college, and completed a program on the use of a comptometer. Marjorie then worked for Standard Oil and L.S. Ayres as a comptometer operator.
On October 2, 1955, Marge put her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. While attending Hope Church, she met John Roger Hartzell, and they were married May 24, 1957. They moved into a house that John had previously built near Broad Ripple Park. Marjorie left a business career to raise her family, as they gave birth to three sons, Roger Garrison, Matthew John, and Timothy Lee. She continued to live in that house until she moved into Green House Cottages of Carmel in October 2021.
Marjorie’s hobbies and interests included traveling, singing in the church choir, working in AWANA, helping in the church nursery, working on various crafts, and going on mission trips. She was an active member of College Park Church from the time it merged with Calvary Bible Church.
Every year, Marjorie was involved in the Friends of Israel conferences held at Winona Lake and continued to be a faithful supporter of the ministry, as well as missionary families around the world.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, John Roger Hartzell; brothers; Charles Albert Garrison and James Lee Garrison; sisters, Alice Riddle and Thelma June McHenry; and grandson, Gregory Chase Hartzell.
Survivors include her sons, Roger G. (Susie) Hartzell, Matthew J. Hartzell (Marilyn Butler), and Timothy L. (Marilyn) Hartzell; her grandchildren, Rebekah (Aarin) Kelsey, Sarah (Michael) Nicholson, Zachary Hartzell, Seth (Leah) Hartzell; and her great grandchildren Britton Nicholson, Jace Hartzell, Parker Nicholson, and Edison Hartzell, as well as many nieces and nephews.
