Marion "Pauline" Mattox Creasy

Marion “Pauline” Mattox Creasy, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020, one day after her birthday.  She was born May 1, 1934, daughter of Horace K. and Alice M. (Kirchoff) Shepard. She was a graduate of Ben Davis High School, where she met and later married her first husband, David Mattox.  During the early years of raising her four children, Pauline was a member of West Side Ben Davis Christian Church.

Pauline, as many people knew her, loved being a homemaker.  She also enjoyed cooking for Lakeview Christian Day Care and Kindergarten. Time passed quickly and Pauline became an empty nester.

She loved the outdoors and spent many weekends with family on and around the water at Cataract Lake.

After becoming a widow, Pauline met and married William Creasy with whom she spent the rest of her retirement years.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her father, Horace Kenneth Shepard (Shep); mother, Alice May (Kirchoff) Shepard; sister, Marilyn Roberson; three brothers, John Shepard, Ralph Shepard, and Richard Shepard; first husband, David Mattox; and second husband, William Creasy.

Survivors include her children, David, Kathy, Vince, and Jon, along with eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and sister, Myra.

Due the current COVID-19 regulations, a Celebration of Pauline's Life will be announced for a later date as an alternative to a Funeral Service and Burial.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Pauline’s memory to donor's favorite charity.
