Marie L. Olson

Marie Louise Olson, 98, of Avon, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 7, 2019.  She was the youngest of four children, born to Josie and George W. Nuss, Jr., in Seymour, IN on December 15, 1920. 

Marie attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was a 1938 graduate of Shield High School in Seymour. She worked as a secretary and office manager at The Farmers Co-operative Elevator Company in Seymour for more than 3 years.

In October of 1941, Marie married Malven L. Olson and they moved to Indianapolis. She enjoyed being a homemaker as well as sewing, quilting and gardening.  She was a member at different times of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran Church and most recently, Our Shepherd Lutheran Church; where she taught Sunday School, attended Bible Study and worked with a group printing the Bible in Braille.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Malven Olson; sons, Christopher Olson and Timothy E. Olson and her siblings.

Survivors include grandsons, Eric Olson, Timothy D. Olson and Brant Olson; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Avery, Aniah, Dylan and Ranier Olson and good friend, Pat VonStrohe.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 10 am in Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9201 East County Road 100 North, Avon, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am.

Burial will follow in Concordia Cemetery, Indianapolis.
