Loren D. Hemingway, 95, known by most as "Hank" was born January 7, 1929. He went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday May 5th, 2024 at 12:34pm. His family was at his bedside.
Hank is survived by his bride of 72 years, Lela Jo; together they have three children, Michael, Lori and Cari; four grandchildren, Ciara, Taylor, Riley and Luke; three great-grandchildren Hayden, Hollyn and Jamie.
Hank was a starting forward on the 1947 Shelbyville Golden Bears, Indiana State Championship Basketball Team. He had several successful careers after the Army. He retired as the Administrator of Home Federals Insurance Department in Columbus.
Hank loved fishing and being with his family. He was a devoted Catholic, husband and father. He will be missed by all.
Ceremonies to celebrate Hank's life are at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 West 16th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224. On Monday, May 13, 2024 with a funeral mass at 11 am, with visitation from one hour prior.
