Kenneth D. May, 79, of Noblesville, passed away February 22, 2025. He was born in Indianapolis on December 14, 1945, the son of Oscar Lloyd and Lila (Jennings) May.
Kenny was a 1963 graduate of Washington High School and later attended IUPUI majoring in history. He and Nina (Secrest) May were married on November 2, 1991. Kenny worked for Link Belt/ FMC/Rexnord bearing manufacturer for 43 years.
Kenny had been a member of Carmel Friends since 1991, actively serving as an usher, member of the Christian Education Committee, and many other capacities.
Other memberships included the Kiwanis Golden K Club, serving as a past president and earning the George F Hixson Fellowship Award.
He worked many years fundraising for Riley Hospital through selling popcorn at Carmel Gazebo Concerts and was a Salvation Army bell ringer. He enjoyed meeting with his Yokefellows every Tuesday for lunch. He was a long time member of the Steelworkers Union.
Kenny was proud of his Haughville roots. He was an avid golfer, often golfing a couple times a week with friends. He proudly achieved the 2 Hole in One award. Kenny bowled for many years in leagues as well as the ABC tournaments. He also played softball and coached youth baseball, softball, and basketball. He was a New York Yankees fan.
Kenny was truly a man of faith and loved his family deeply. His pancakes and breakfast were legendary among his grandkids. He treasured getting to spend time with his youngest grandson every week.
Most importantly, Kenny loved the Lord with all his heart and served Him faithfully in every aspect of his life.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his brother Eddie May.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Jo Secrest May; children, Kenneth May Jr., Dawn May, Jeffrey May, Kelly May, Brandon (Amy) Dennis, Aileen (David) McDivitt, Nathan (Karen) Dennis, and Kyle (Hilary) May; grandchildren, Dawn (Erich) Bolander, Brooke Morrison, Hannah (Jack) Garner, Ethan and Caleb Dennis, Tiernan, Ashtin, and Ella McDivitt, William and Jenna Dennis, and Atticus Kenneth May; great-grandchildren, Cassion Bolander; and brother, Steve (Joanne) May.
Family and friends will gather from 3-6 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2025 in Carmel Friends Church, 651 W. Main Street, Carmel, IN 46032, where the Funeral Service will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11 am.
A Committal Service will follow in Carmel Cemetery.
