June Kathleen Betten, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020. She was born July 3, 1934 in San Diego, CA, daughter of Carlton James and Myrtle (Doneker) Blynn.
Having grown up in a Navy family, June lived in the cities of San Diego, Honolulu and San Francisco. On December 7, 1941, June, her mother (with infant sister, Sallie) witnessed the Pearl Harbor bombing from their home on Diamond Head. Carlton, June’s father, had been onboard one of the least damaged ships in the harbor; however, the family was unaware until he returned home safely after 2 weeks.
June became a devoted young bride at the age of 16 when she married her first love, Robert. They settled in Orange County, CA to raise two daughters and work in the family business. Later June obtained her real estate license. She sold new homes for a prominent real estate developer before retiring to Vancouver, WA.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Robert C. Betten.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathie (Peter) Turke and Karen (Randal) Erwin; grandchildren, Laura Zellman, Scott (Brittany) Erwin and Sarah (Zachary) Aumage; great-grandchildlren, Ethan Zellman, Isaac Zellman, Noah Zellman, Riley Erwin, Jacob Aumage, Caleb Aumage and Ashleigh Zellman; sister, Sallie (Eugene) Bankston; sister-in-law, Blanche Betten; 15 nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, February 7, 2020 at 3645 Davidson Farm Road, Kennesaw, GA.
