JUDITH ELAINE YOUNG

On Monday November 9, 2020, Judith Young, loving wife and mother of two children and three grandchildren passed away at the age of 75.

Judith was born on November 21, 1944 in Clinton, TN, daughter of George and Edith Manning.

She attended Oklahoma Wesleyan University from 1966-67. On September 2, 1967, Judith and Edward Young were married, and they had a loving and dedicated marriage for 53 years. They raised two children, Lisa and Greg.  Judith worked in a variety of industries but found tremendous fulfillment working with children at KinderCare children’s academy in Carmel, IN.

Judith had a servant’s heart and served in the children’s wing at Trinity Wesleyan Church in Indianapolis, IN for many years. She loved Jesus and enjoyed studying and reading her Bible daily.  Her family was her life.  She enjoyed spoiling and playing with her grandchildren, planning the annual Thanksgiving Day gathering, coffee and pastries with anyone who had the time, movies with her son, and shopping with her daughter. She enjoyed listening to classic hymns, Elvis Presley, and had a crazy sweet tooth (Three Musketeers and chocolate covered cherries were her favorite).  Adored by her family, Judith was a brave and faithful servant of the Lord and will be missed by all who came to know her.

In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by three siblings, Kenneth, Lloyd, and Lila.

She is survived by her husband, Edward; children, Lisa Mathiesen (Rich) and Greg Young (Amanda); three grandchildren, Cory, Kate, and Lila; brother JP; sisters, Glenna, Marla, Erma, Lulan, Viki, Beverly; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Receiving of friends will be held Thursday, November 19 at 11 am in Trinity Wesleyan Church, 9709 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, where the Funeral Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1 pm. The service will be live-streamed at https://live.encountertrinity.tv/

Due to the pandemic, facial coverings and social distancing protocols are required of all in attendance.

In memory of Judith, contributions may be given to Trinity Child Care, 9709 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN  46250.  Envelopes will be available at the service.
