John Dale Carsey Jr, 90, of Carmel, formally of Katy, TX, passed away comfortably with his wife Nora by his side in their home, June 24, 2020. He was born June 30, 1929 in New Orleans, LA, son of John Dale Carsey Sr, and Helen Louise (Hofmeister) Carsey. The family moved to TX when John was 9 years of age.
John was a great storyteller, especially enjoying sharing stories about his years working as a Chemical Engineer, and his brief time in the Army before receiving a medical discharge. Upon retirement, he loved spending time tending to his Texas farm.
On May 7, 2005, John and Nora Ann were married in Katy, TX. In 2015 they moved to Carmel to be close to local family.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Carsey and Shirley Marrig; and daughter, Melissa Carsey.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Nora Ann; children, John Carsey III of West Point, TX, Kimberly (David) Kossa of Katy, TX, and step-daughter Theresa (Gordon) Slack of Zionsville, IN; grandchildren, John Kossa and Matthew Kossa, and step grandchildren, Andrew (Katy) Slack, Chelsea Slack and Paul Slack, and one great step-grandchild, Weston.
A visitation will take place at 10 am, Monday, June 29, 2020 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am.
A graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, IN.
