Joe Billy Mize, 59, of Westfield, passed away September 2, 2025. He was born March 4,1966, in Detroit, MI, son of Joe and Virginia (Hernden) Mize.
Joe attended the Marion Military Institute in AL, received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State and finally his Master of Mathematics from the University of Central FL. While at the University of Central FL, Joe was an instructor in the mathematics department.
Along with a good friend and colleague, Charlie Harp, together they founded Clinical Architecture. While in his tenure at CA, Joe progressed from being the entire engineering team to the position of Chief Technology Officer. Oftentimes Joe would be referred to as the master of dark arts in software engineering. He could turn a hamster into an integer and back into a hamster.
Prior to CA, Joe was employed with Zynx Health as the VP of Engineering. Also, he worked for another Hurst Corporation of First Data Bank.
Joe was a proud veteran of the US Army reserves where he served as an Artillery Officer. He loved traveling and was privileged to fulfill his bucket list by traveling around the world.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Paul Kanaby.
Survivors include he devoted wife, Christina (Beals) Mize, whom he married June 29, 2016; stepchildren, Terran Tull (Jess Kanalos), Caleb Fahrson (Shelby Cornish), Luke (Nicole) Mize Macdonald; sisters, Diane (Kaufman) Mize, Claudia Mize, Lisa (Doug) Pfluke, and Tina (Don) Poling; nieces and nephews, Kristy Kaufman, Jessica Faber, Tabatha Kanaby, Eon Kanaby, Ruben Pfluke, Raquel Orahoske, Mark Poling, and Wendy Poling Vecsey; former wife, Rhonda Turich-Mize; and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life took place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1-4 pm in the Clinical Architecture Building, 11611 Meridian Street, Suite 700, Carmel, IN.
Also, A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in New Baltimore, MI.
