Jere I. Klivansky, 94, of Carmel, formerly of Lakewood Ranch, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2023. He was born August 5, 1928, the son of William and Irene (Winer) Klivansky. Jere was the beloved husband to Geraldine Rosalie Klivansky, with whom he had celebrated 48 years of marriage before her passing in May 2020.
Jere was a 1946 graduate of McCaskey High School. He was an outstanding member of the football, basketball, and track teams. Jere also graduated from Mercersburg Academy and Cornell University. While at Cornell, he played football where a torn ACL ended his playing career.
Following graduation from Cornell University, Jere joined Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation. He held various positions from administrative to sales. He later joined Edgcomb Metals and rose to the rank of Executive Vice President. Jere also sat on the board of directors for Russell Metals.
Jere was a veteran of the United States Army, having served as First Lieutenant during the Korean war from September 1951 to September 1953.
Survivors include his sons, Edwin (Jennifer) Klivansky, and Mikel Klivansky; daughter, Beth (Kurt) Klivansky; 7 grandchildren, Aaron, Shelby (husband, Evan), Edwin Jr. (fiancé, Cierra), Jacob (wife, Nichole), Jordan (fiancé, Matthew), Mykala (fiance', Pete), and Rylee; 2 great-granddaughters, Everly and Adley.
In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Jere, contributions may be given to the Hamilton County Humane Society, 105 Hague Road, Fishers, IN 46038.
