It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him.
The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him.
~ Lamentations 2: 22-25
To my dearest Jim, My one true love and best friend. Love always, Jamie
James Brian Burroughs, 74, of Noblesville, IN, passed away November 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 21, 1950, in Indianapolis, IN. Jim was the son of the late Floyd and Ruth Burroughs.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was married to his beloved wife, Jamie, for 39 years, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Jim was a man of strong faith; his family was at the heart of everything he did. He took great pride in both his family and his faith, and these two pillars shaped his life.
Jim graduated from DePauw University and later Indiana University, where he earned his law degree and laid the foundation for a successful career as a lawyer. Known for his professionalism, dedication, and compassionate approach, Jim was highly respected by his colleagues and clients. His work in the legal community left a lasting impact, and he was deeply committed to serving others through his practice.
An avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Jim’s passion for baseball was well-known among his family and friends. Whether watching games on TV or attending them in person, his enthusiasm for the Reds was contagious, and he loved sharing that excitement with others.
Jim was also deeply involved in his faith and served for many years as the choir director at First Baptist Church in Carmel, IN. His love for music and worship was evident in everything he did, and he inspired countless others through his leadership and musical talent.
Jim’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his wife, Jamie; their children, Nichole Hansen, (Brett), Ashley Ingle (Eddie), Jacquelyn Hastings (Daniel), and Charlie Burroughs (Ingrid); six grandchildren, Luke, Blake, Jacob, Abby, Sidney and Leta; brother, Philip Burroughs (Melissa); and sister, Jane Tuttle; numerous, friends, and colleagues, all of whom will miss his kind nature, sharp wit, and loving spirit.
Jim’s presence will be missed by all who knew him, but his dry humor, kindness, generosity and humility will live on in everyone's hearts and minds.
