James “Jay” Arnold Johnson Jr., 67, of Plainfield passed away on Saturday October 26, 2024 at the Plainfield Health Care Center. He was born July 29, 1957, in Fort Hood, Texas, son of the late James A. Johnson and Victoria “Doris” Johnson.
Jay was a gifted and talented model maker, owning his own custom motorcycle shop, a machine shop, and a vintage car restoration business. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Viet Nam war.
Survivors include his five children; Jayden and Shelby Johnson of Westfield, Leslee (Michael) Wood of New Palestine, Lauren Johnson of Las Vegas, and James Haas of Germany; sisters, Rita (Gene) Strickland, and Bobbie Young, both of Florida; brothers, Rick (Treasa) Johnson of Greenwood, John Johnson of Indianapolis.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11 am in the Plainfield Christian Church, 800 Dan Jones Road, Plainfield.
