K. Gene Miller went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2026. He was born October 25, 1934, on a farm in Fulton County, Indiana.
His parents were Kenneth and Edna (Koffel) Miller who preceded him in death.
Gene grew up on a farm with his brother, Wayne, and widowed mother. He graduated from Purdue University in 1956 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Shortly after that, he entered the U.S. Air Force with a 3-year ROTC commitment.
In the summer of 1956, he met his future wife, Mary Pasquale, and they were married in 1958. She survives him. After he served as a SAC navigator at MacDill AFB, Florida, they returned to Purdue where Gene earned his MSCE degree.
In 1971, after 10 years of employment with architectural/engineering firms, Gene founded an Indianapolis structural engineering firm which was in business for 27 years. That practice merged with McComas Engineering in 1998 where Gene continued as a part-time consultant for the next 10 years.
Upon retirement, Gene and Mary spent many happy winters at Siesta Key, their favorite Florida retreat.
Gene enjoyed reading historical biographies and pursued a life-long interest in the Bible. He participated in and led many small Bible studies.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Michael (Sarah), Franklin, TN, Annette Fulton (Scott), and Amy Reed (Mike) of Fishers; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
