Evelyn Lhe Simpson passed away December 22, 2024, at the age of 93. She was born June 24, 1931, in Louisville, KY as Evelyn Lhe Erdmann, daughter of Linton and Isla May Erdmann, and was one of two children with her brother Linton Erdmann.
Ev was a 1953 graduate of Hanover College with a degree in Music Education. Later she married Robert Simpson, and they were blessed with 3 sons.
Ev worked as the Reference Librarian at the Carmel Clay Public Library, before retiring in 1996. As a member of Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, Ev sang in the choir as well as belonging to the Sentimental Sounds choir. She also was a member of Phi Mu Sorority as well as various bridge clubs and organizations. After retirement, Ev volunteered at the Carmel Clay Public Library and the Carmel Historical Society.
An honor was presented to Ev as being one of the first to receive the Range Line Pioneer award in 1992. Ev was a big fan of many different types of sports and an avid collector of various items.
In addition to her parents, Ev was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Simpson, and son, Bart Simpson.
Survivors include her sons, Bob (Gale) Simpson, and Wally (Julie) Simpson, and Bart's wife Moira Simpson.
Family and friends will gather Friday, January 3, 2025, at 4:30 pm in Castleview Church, 8601 Hague Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256, where the funeral service will begin at 6:00 pm.
