Enos C. Taylor Sr., 86, of Carmel, passed away August 14, 2021. He was born December 16, 1934 in Cadiz, KY, son of John and Leola (Street) Taylor Mitchel.
Enos was a 1954 graduate of Crispus Attacks High School, Indianapolis. He continued his education and received his certification at Detroit Allison Diesel Mechanic School. Before retiring as Senior Mechanic, Enos worked 30 years at Roadway Express and during that time, he was a member of Local Teamsters 135.
He was a proud veteran of the US Army. In 1976 Enos was awarded Cub Master of the Year with Troop 128. He was very involved in the Boy Scout programs teaching his own son life values. Enos and attended Carmel Christian Church.
Enos and Barbara Williams were married, started their family in Hackensack, NJ, and moved to Indianapolis where the children were and raised. He took his family on lavish vacations and was known for treating his family to eating at exotic restaurants. Also, he was a generous big tipper! Enos enjoyed tinkering and creating things with his hands, he was an avid reader which was a gift he instilled in his children. He was a dedicated father to Enos Jr. and Sherri. Following retirement, Enos moved to Carmel, enjoyed spending time with family, his Senior Community activities, making new friends and experiencing new adventures along the way.
In addition to his parents, Enos was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Robert Taylor.
Survivors include his son, Enos C. (Garla) Taylor Jr.; daughter, Sherri D. Taylor; granddaughter, Devon S. Taylor; former wife, Barbara A. Taylor; brother, John M. (Beverly) Taylor; sisters, Thersia (Van) Puttenther, and Denise Olever; sister-in-law, Millie Taylor; several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
