Edwin "Ed" Wiseman

C. Edwin Wiseman, 82, of Carmel, passed away June 28, 2023. He was born in Noblesville, son of the late Gerald Edwin and Opal May (Trietsch) Wiseman.

As a 1959 graduate of Carmel High School, Ed continued his education at Virginia Farrell Beauty School in Detroit where he graduated in 1961. Ed worked as a licensed cosmetologist until his retirement in 2008.

For 25 years, Ed was a member of the Carmel High School Alumni Association where he served as president. Ed was a devout Catholic. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1968 and was a 4th degree knight. For several years Ed served as the Usher Coordinator at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. In 2017, Ed and Georganna became parishioners of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church.

Ed was a lifelong reader and enjoyed watching westerns. He took great pride in making contributions to his church, Native American charities, and the Knights of Columbus. Ed enjoyed his weekly visits to the gym to socialize and exercise. His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his wife, family, and friends.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Georganna; sons, Gerald (Kristina) and Kenneth (Sherri); granddaughters, Sara, Emily, Grace, and Katie; sister, Cinda (John) Thompson.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 10 am in St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17104 Springmill Road, Westfield, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 am.

Entombment will take place at Lincoln Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be given to donor’s favorite charity.
