Eddie “Joyce” Elliott Davis, 91, of Carmel, IN, entered the arms of Jesus on March 22, 2021. She was born September 30, 1929 in Wichita Falls, TX, the daughter of Samuel Edmund and Kathleen Louise Stockley Elliott.
Before retiring after 25 years with Millwood Hospital, Joyce worked in other medical offices for 14 years. After 29 years of marriage, Joyce became the widow of WWII veteran, Oscar “Cecil” Davis.
Joyce was blessed with a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also was gifted in playing the piano (she could listen to her grandmother’s playing, and then play the same tunes by ear) and was a church pianist during her earlier years.
The love Joyce had for her family was expressed in dedicating much time in prayer for each of her family members. Her commitment to the Lord and deep faith made Joyce unique and special. She was inspiring and loved to talk to others about Christ and sing His praises.
She also loved to work in her flower garden, and she had a “green thumb” and could produce beautiful flowers. Joyce possessed a sparkle for life that was contagious. She had a strong work ethic that was passed on to her family.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Cecil Davis; sister, Dorthy Mae Harrelson-McIntyre; and niece, Teresa Joyce Lentz.
Survivors include her daughter, Teri Davis Bosley and son-in-love, Larry Bosley; grandsons, Stephen Bosley and wife, Jessica Bosley, Jason Bosley and wife, Whitney Bosley; great-grandsons, Daniel Bosley and William Bosley; nephew, Paul Edmond Harrelson and wife, Leslie Harrelson; additional family, Fallon Snyder, Dennis Lentz, Linda Weiler and Marilyn Short.
