Deborah K. DeHaan, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away July 26, 2020. She was born November 5, 1951 in Indianapolis, daughter of William T. and Geneva (Bone) Crawford.
Debbie was a 1970 graduate of Warren Central High School. She then received her BS in music and English from Indiana University. She was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. Debbie enjoyed devoting time to different philanthropic causes such as the American Heart Association.
It is difficult to adequately describe the many attributes Debbie possessed. She was generous, beautiful inside as well as outside, witty, kind and very loving. She had a true passion for music of various styles. She loved fashion, books of all sorts, and of course shopping and collecting. Her dogs, Dreyfus, Harry-Winston, Thatcher, Reagan and Andy preceded her in death; however, through the years, brought so much joy to her life.
Debbie was always ready for adventures, whether small ones or big ones. One of her favorite vacation places to visit was Disney World and Disney Land.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her sister, Greta Lou Crawford.
Survivors include her brother, Steve (Nancy) Crawford; sister, Betty Jane (David) Vaughn; nieces, Kate Crawford and Bailey Vaughn; nephew, Trevor Vaughn; dearest and closest friends, who were like family, Angie Lawson, Kitzi and Larry Love.
Without question, Debbie exuded class, elegance, and style. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Debbie’s Life will be held Friday, July 31, 2020 in Kentucky due to Covid-19 .
