Davardo Charles Sutherland, 25, of Indianapolis, IN, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 11, 2023. He was born April 8, 1998 in St. Andrew, Jamaica the only child of David A. and Jennifer J. (Henlon) Sutherland.
Even as a young boy, Davardo was very mature. Growing up in Jamaica, he was always satisfied with his humble beginning, never complaining. Davardo decided at a young age to save the money he earned. Throughout his life, he often and lovingly expressed to his parents how much he loved them and was thankful for everything they did for him.
Following his family’s move to the US in 2018, he attended North Central High School where he obtained further education. Davardo then moved back to Jamaica to attend college at St. George’s College in Kingston. After his graduation, he spent 2 years at Vocational Training Development Institute (VTDI).
Davardo loved gathering knowledge on a variety of subjects, soaking up information, always investing time in learning something new. He was very technical and through much research, taught himself what was necessary to work and repair old cars, something he greatly enjoyed.
Davardo especially enjoyed spending time with his dad watching old movies such as westerns and James Bond. He liked to research famous actors’ life spans and how they became actors, like Clint Eastwood and James Garner in Rockford Files. Davardo’s favorite movie of all time was the Exodus with Charles Heston as Moses.
The most important thing in Davardo’s life was his relationship with Jesus Christ. He loved the Lord with all his heart and looked forward to worshiping in God’s House every opportunity possible. During the time of illness, Davardo desired to attend Worship Services where he continued to thank and praise God.
Davardo was an example of the Bible verse: Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it. He read the Bible daily.
His parents, David and Jennifer, were present at birth and death when he took his last breath and entered into the joy of Heaven. God spoke to Davardo telling him would be healed, and certainly Davardo experienced complete, divine, and eternal healing.
Davardo was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include his loving and devoted parents, David and Jennifer Sutherland, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
