Danny Joe Smith

Danny Joe Smith, 68, of Westfield, IN passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024. He was born October 30, 1955 in Elko, NV to Willie Raymond Smith & Thelma Hoffman.

Danny spent most of his life in the Automotive Industry as a Mechanic. He owned and operated 2 different Automotive Shops during his career. Unfortunately, a fire destroyed both shops. After the second fire, Danny decided he had enough of owning his own business and decided to return to the simple life of working for a company. In July 2017, he began working for Hittle Landscaping as a shop mechanic until his passing.

As a veteran of the US Army, Danny served from 1972-1975.

Danny was the type of guy who would do any and everything for anyone. The adage of “He would give someone the shirt off his back” Well, that’s exactly the kind of guy Danny was, ready to see only the good in everyone. He loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, riding his motorcycle, going to car shows, and telling stories from his past. He loved sleeping, eating, and especially savoring a well-seasoned rare steak with an ice-cold beer. He was such a simple guy, and the littlest things made him happy.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Smith; brother, Robert “Bobby” Smith; and sisters, Mary Vazquez and Sandra Swanson.

Danny’s memory will forever be cherished and remembered by family, friends, and all who knew him. He was a kind, loving, and generous soul who touched the lives of countless people.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 3-6 pm in Pendleton Falls Park, 460 Falls Park Drive, Pendleton, IN 46064.
