Christine Lee Obituary

Reba Christine Lee "Christine, Gram, Ank" went to be with our Lord September 19, 2021 at the age of 89. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and friend.

She was born to Everett and Ruby Lee in Greenwood, Florida on May 23rd, 1932. Everett and Ruby had eight children, Angus Lee, Marvin Lee, Ruby and Reba Lee, Erma Koziol, Annette Shields-Helman, Margaret Brumley and Fred Lee. Reba Christine Lee moved with family to Jacksonville about 1950 where she met Richard Leon Melton at the Lane Rexall Drug store where she worked. They were married by JOP in Whigham, Georgia, on June 30, 1950, when she was 18 years old. After the birth of their first son in 1951, she moved to Indianapolis to live with her in-laws, Robert and Mary Melton while Richard finished his tour on the USS Essex. She was employed by Wheeler’s restaurant and Western Electric Co. Christine and Richard Melton had five children, Richard Melton, Marilyn Sandler, Cynthia "Cindy" Fox, Linda Michael and Tony "Lovie" Melton.

Christine was grandmother to 12, great grandmother to 11, and great great grandmother to 2. One great granddaughter she called her "Namesake", Kinzley Christine.

Christine was an identical twin to Ruby Chrystelle Lee, who also had five children, along with several nieces and nephews.
Christine and Chrystelle did just about everything together which included being pregnant at the same time. They both had five children, 2 boys and 3 girls. Christine loved to be with her family and loved taking care of the elderly. She was a caregiver for several years for the Kopetsky family.

She was a very devoted Christian who loved the Lord. She had a bible verse for everything and loved to share them. One of her favorite scriptures was …Jeremiah 33:3 "Call to Me, and I will answer and show you great and mighty things you know not."

Christine was always conscious of her appearance. She loved to dress up. When others around her had on sweats, she was dressed to the nines with jewelry, lipstick and matching eyeglasses.

She loved to travel especially to Israel which was the highlight of her travels that she talked alot about. Services for Christine will be October 4th, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Carmel Lions Club, 141 E. Main Carmel IN 46032 and burial next to her twin at Carmel Cemetery, 951 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032.
