Bridget S. (Steffen) Burns

Bridget S. (Steffen) Burns, 63, of Westfield, IN passed away peacefully June 5, 2026, with her children at her side. She was born on September 17, 1962, to the late Dr. Paul and Julia (Stevens) Steffen of Westfield. Bridget is survived by her two children Simon and Tiffany Burns; her siblings Victor (Joella) Steffen & family, Valerie Steffen, and Mark (Kim) Steffen & family. She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. Paul and Julia Steffen and two brothers Gregory and Vincent Steffen. 

Bridget was a 1980 graduate of Westfield High School and continued her education at Indiana University. She spent 20 years in the printing industry followed by 14 years in the health care industry where she supported IT functions in outpatient offices. As an active member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Bridget served in different church ministries through the years. The greatest joy for Bridget was spending time with her kids and family. She also loved listening to music as it was calming and lifted her spirits. Bridget always took the opportunity to stop and smell the flowers and simply enjoy each day.

Bridget will be greatly missed, but is having fun with her parents, brothers, other relatives and friends, all in the same heavenly place. 

Family and friends will gather Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 11 am in St. Maria Goretti Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 pm. 

Immediately following the service, Bridget will be laid to rest alongside her family members in the Chester Friends Cemetery.
