Brenda L. Monge

Brenda Lou Monge, 70, of Carmel, formerly of Clinton, IN, died February 2, 2020 at 1:05 pm under Hospice Home Care.  She fought a hard and long battle with colon cancer.  Brenda was born September 10, 1949 in Vermillion County, daughter of Samuel W. and Beverly L. (Granger) Smith.

Following graduation from Clinton High School, Brenda attended Indiana State University.  She retired from St. Louis Embroidery after more than 20 years.

Brenda possessed a contagious smile and laughed often causing everyone around her to smile as well.  She enjoyed water painting, spending time with children; however, she relished time spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Brian Bailey.

Survivors include her son, Justin Monge; grandsons, Logan Watson and Gabe Frellhill; sisters, Joy (Ron) Sturm, Michelle Bailey and Cathy Ferrari; brother, Jerry W. (Kay) Smith and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 1 pm, Friday, February 7, 2020 in the day chapel at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, of which Brenda was a member.
