Bonnie Jean Baumer, 96 of Zionsville, died in her sleep on June 22, 2023. She was born June 14, 1927 in Centralia, Illinois, daughter of Volney A. Swaim and Ethel Davis Swaim. On July 17, 1946, Bonnie married Forrest Duane Baumer.
Mrs. Baumer worked at Herron’s Jeweler in Centralia for 25 years. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Pink Lady Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and the VFW Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Bonnie is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack D. Hamburg and J.M. Swaim.
She is survived by her son, Terry L. Baumer and his wife, Patricia Gabig; two grandchildren, Zachary Baumer and Lauren Baumer Piper; four great-grandchildren, Zoe, Audrey, Will, and Maddy; two step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Houdek and Joan Gabig, three step-great grandchildren, Henry, Florence, and Rose; sister, Peggy Swaim West (Dwight); sisters-in-law, Suzy Hamburg and Judy Swaim; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Family Graveside Service will take place in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
