Billy Louis Akers

Billy Louis Akers, 74, of Quincy, IN, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was born September 18, 1951, in Terre Haute, IN to the late Billy Buford and Betty Jean (Ulrey) Akers.

 He was a 1969 graduate of Honey Creek High School.

Before retiring, Bill was employed for several years with the Brownsburg High School. He continued working and was currently employed by Indiana Eye Specialist.

Bill was a member of Grace Place Worship Church.  One of the activities Bill enjoyed was sitting outside on his porch watching all the different birds at their feeders. He also liked to spend time fishing, mushroom hunting, as well as sprint car racing. However, the greatest joy in Bill’s life was savoring every moment with his family, whom he loved dearly.

Survivors include his loving wife, Cindy Akers; children, Amy (Frank) Hunter, Weslie (Nicole) Akers, Anastasia (Ben Riggle) Dotson, Anthony (Carlee) Dotson, Michael Dotson; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Megan) McMillan, Sawyer (Cassidy) Hunter, Lucas Akers, Liam Akers, Phobe Akers, Seth Akers, Conner Dotson, Isabella Dotson, Skylar Dotson; great-grandchildren, Jack McMillan, Eli McMillan, Oliver McMillan, Georgie Hunter; and sisters, Sue Paris and Karen (Ken) Thomas.

Family and friends will gather for Bill’s Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 11am-3pm in Pine Ridge Homestead, Spencer, IN
