Betty Jean Morris, 99, of Noblesville, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020. She was born June 26, 1921 in Noblesville, IN, daughter of George and Dove (Harrison) Beal.
Betty lived most of her life in Hamilton County. She was a 1939 graduate of Noblesville High School.
Having lived during the Greatest Generation, Betty met John Morris, a B17 Crew Member of WWII, and they married April 5, 1942 in the First Friends Church in Noblesville.
Throughout the years, Betty worked for a variety of companies including Blocks Department Store, Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she was employed the longest, and Hamilton County Abstract Company. The greatest joy in life for Betty was being a wife, mother to five sons, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
During the summer months, Betty enjoyed traveling and wintering in FL. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and sharing the produce with family and friends, as well spending time in her flower gardens. Whether it was family gatherings or church dinners, Betty was expected to serve her famous homemade chicken and noodles.
Betty and John lived in the Carmel-Westfield area most of their lives. Following retirement, they lived in Syracuse, IN near Quaker Haven Church Camp for 15 years. They returned to Carmel to live and attended Carmel Friends Church.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, John Morris; son, Timothy Jay Morris; great-grandson, Hayden Watt; sister, Rachel Beal; and brother-in-law, Clifford Snyder.
Survivors include her sons; George Stanley (Sharyn) Morris, John Richard (Andrea) Morris, James Philip (Donna) Morris and Don Alan Morris; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Camilla Morris; brothers, Benjamin (Judy) Beal, Alfred (Nancy) Beal; sister, Marcella Snyder; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10 am in the Carmel Friends Church, where the Funeral Service will begin at 11 am.
A family Committal Service will take place in Carmel Cemetery.
