Betty June (Byers) Miller

Betty June Miller, 95, Carmel, went into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ July 10, 2021.  She was born November 25, 1925 in Tulsa, OK, daughter of Ray Edward and Maggie Nolia (Hodge) Byers.

Betty married Joe Harry Miller in 1947 in Tulsa. During her lifetime, Betty lived in Tulsa as well as Corpus Christi, TX; Devon, PA; Naples, FL; and Carmel, IN.

As early residents in The Stratford of Carmel, Betty and Joe became the welcoming committee to the new residents moving in and served in that role for several years.  Through these acts of kindness, Betty clearly expressed her loving, caring, and generous spirit to those around her. Betty enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Betty loved reading, knitting, golf, bridge and in her younger years serving others through her church. She also played the piano and organ for church services.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Harry Miller; and brother, Oliver Byers.

Survivors include her children, Margaret (Stafford) Walker and Dr. John (Jeanne) Miller; grandchildren, Joshua (Erin) Walker, Rebekah Zenn, Jordan (Carrie) Miller, Sarah Walker and Jacob (Natalie) Miller; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather for the Funeral Service, Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 10:30 am in Faith Church, of which Betty was a member, 9125 N. College, Indianapolis.

A private burial will follow.
