Betty Davis Obituary

Betty Maxine Hostetter Shepherd Davis, 87, of Fishers, passed away November 2, 2019.  She was born in Linton, IN on January 9, 1932, daughter of Harris and Wanda Myers Hostetter. When Betty was a young girl, her mother, Wanda died.  Celestine Myers Hostetter became who Betty would grow up knowing as her mother.  

Betty was a graduate of Frankfort Pilgrim High School, Frankfort, IN. Before retiring, she worked as a Credit Manager for Best Lock Corporation, Indianapolis, IN.  Following retirement, Betty served as a volunteer at St. Vincent hospital for several years.

As a longtime member of Trinity Wesleyan Church, Betty faithfully served as treasurer, Sunday school teacher and youth group leader. She was gifted with hospitality, often hosting family and friends in her home.

Betty enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and internationally to places such as the Philippines and Israel.  Betty and husband Arthur served 6 months as short term missionaries in Australia.

Betty was married to Paul Shepherd for 29 years. After his passing, she married Arthur Davis and they were married for 28 years.

In addition to her parents and stepmother, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Shepherd; brother, Daniel Hostetter, and great-grandson, Oak Shepherd.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Davis; children; Carl (Vicki) Shepherd, Jerry (Marcia) Shepherd, Gary (Kristi) Davis, Dennis Davis and Randy (Jama) Davis; grandchildren, Jonathan (Christine) Shepherd, Ryan (Kristel) Shepherd, Stephen (Tamara) Shepherd, Aaron (Jathniel) Shepherd, Scott Shepherd, Mark (Lauren) Shepherd, Jordan Shepherd, Mindy (Tony) Hammond, Tricia (David) Neu, Nick Davis, Tamara Davis, Ian (Jessica) Davis and Amanda (Michael) Alexander; great-grandchildren, Joel Shepherd, Josiah Shepherd, Ansel Shepherd,  Oliver Shepherd, Samuel Shepherd, Virginia Shepherd, Davy Shepherd, Eliza Shepherd, Blake Hammond, Karli Hammond, Charley Hammond, Logan Neu, Jaxson Davis and Elizabeth Alexander. 

Family and Friends will gather on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 4-7 pm in Trinity Wesleyan Church, 9709 Allisonville Road and again Saturday, November 9 at 10 am.  The funeral service will begin at 11 am Saturday, November 9 in the church.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens cemetery.

In memory of Betty, contributions may be directed to Trinity Wesleyan Church.  Envelopes will be available at the service.
