Berniece Sears Eggers

Berniece Sears Eggers, 93, of Westfield, IN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 7, 2022. She was born October 26, 1928 in Pulaski County, KY, the youngest of seven children, to Belia and Katie (Bradley) Sears.

At the age of 27, Berniece began her career with Lotus Gardens Restaurant, Indianapolis location, where she served as Hostess Manager for 35 years. She was appreciated and loved by the many patrons through the years because of her warm and friendly personality. Berniece and Bob became family to the Yee family, spending many holidays and special events together.

Berniece enjoyed cooking and produced many delicious dishes from her favorite recipes. She was also gifted in decorating her home and arranging beautiful flowers. One of the greatest qualities Berniece possessed was her kindness, love of people, and never speaking an unkind word about anyone.

In addition to her parents, Berniece was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Robert “Bob” Eggers; sisters, Genieve, Gertie, Imogene; brothers, Vic, Jesse, and Kenneth.

Berniece is survived by her family friend, Jenny Yee; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather Monday, August 15, 2022 at 11 am in Trinity Baptist Church of Westfield, of which Berniece was a longtime member, and where the Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon.

A Committal Service will follow in Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery.
