Araceli Morales‑Lerma, 47, of Westfield, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on May 15, 2026. She was born October 11, 1979, in Mexico City, Mexico, daughter of the late Felipe Morales Rinco and Guadalupe Lerma Garcia.
Araceli lived a life that expressed warmth, generosity, and a spirit that was uplifting. A proud high school graduate, she carried her determination and work ethic all through her life. She was an exceptional baker whose creations were greatly appreciated at any gathering. Her dedication in the workplace earned her the honor of Employee of the Month—an achievement that reflected her reliability, kindness, and pride in her work.
Outside of her professional life, Araceli found happiness in the simple, beautiful moments of life. She loved tending to her garden, watching movies, and taking long walks with family and friends. She also enjoyed bonfires, camping trips, and time spent outdoors because those were her favorite ways to connect with the people she loved. And after a long day at work, Araceli always looked forward to her daily nap.
Araceli’s smile was contagious, her heart endlessly caring, and her willingness to help others unwavering. She was the kind of person who showed up—ready to support, ready to listen, ready to love. Her greatest joy in life was her four children.
Araceli leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love. Her memory will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Survivors include her children, Lena Morales Stark, Jessica Morales Stark, Alex Morales Stark, and Natalia Penaloza Morales; sisters, Sabina Morales Lerma, Esther Morales Lerma, Beatriz Morales Lerma, Esperanza Morales Lerma, Claudia Morales Lerma, Margarita Morales Lerma, and Felipa Gerardo Morales Lerma; niece, Tanya Morales.
A visitation will take place Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 Noon.
