Ann Elizabeth (Lewis) McMahon

Ann Elizabeth McMahon (née Lewis) passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on June 9, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Ann's life journey took her through various parts of the state, from Detroit to Traverse City and Boyne City. She spent much of her life in Howell, Michigan, before making her final home in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she lived with her daughter.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Rachel Ann Lewis (née Rollo), father, Howard Douglas Lewis; and cherished sister, Joan Evertt.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Judith Lynne LaMere (née Farrant); son, William Rollo Farrant; as well as three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy; and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Jean Farrant (née  Krebs), who was a close friend and confidant.

Ann dedicated her life to helping others. She began her career as a registered nurse, later earning a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, and then a Master's Degree in Social Work. Her professional life was defined by her commitment to supporting and uplifting those around her. She had a unique ability to make people feel stronger and more capable, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Ann had a wide range of interests that brought joy and creativity into her life. She was an avid garage sale enthusiast, antique dealer, talented doll maker, and a lover of art, spending hours painting and drawing. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to sell her creations online through platforms like eBay and Etsy. Ann was also fascinated by the mysteries of the world, enjoying conversations about UFOs and ancient megalithic structures. Her sense of humor and fun-loving nature made her a delight to be around.

Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her passing leaves the world a little less bright, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. As one of her great-grandchildren lovingly suggested, perhaps now Ann is an Angel Mermaid—a fitting tribute to a woman who embraced life with such wonder and grace. She would have liked that! 

There are no services scheduled at this time; however, a Celebration of Ann's Life will be held at a later date.

Ann's final resting place will take place in Lake View Cemetery, Howell, MI.
