Alexander Jones Obituary

It is with deep sorrow we share the passing of our kind, gentle, and loving Alex. Alexander Michael Jones, 24, of Westfield, passed away March 7, 2023. He was born May 6, 1998 in Kokomo, to Barry W. and Cheryl A. (Dragoo) Jones.

In his early years, Alex was raised in Sharpsville, was homeschooled, and grew up playing with long-time friends before attending Western High School in Russiaville. During his high school days, Alex was a member of the Japanese Club, Chess Club and Swing Dance.  For a short time, Alex and his family moved to El Paso, TX. Upon returning to IN, he completed his education at Western High School and attended IU-Kokomo for a year. Again, Alex ventured westward to Washington state. Fortunately for the family, the events of Covid brought him back to his home roots, allowing more family time together.

Alex became a Samsung Specialist Technician at Best Buy in Noblesville, where he was loved by his co-workers. Previously, he was employed in the Target Electronics Department in Olympia, WA as well as a Lifeguard in Tipton.

Alex was fascinated with technology by tinkering with 3D printing, gaming, computers, and cell phones. He was highly knowledgeable about all types of technology, as well as training and troubleshooting; thus, his job of helping individuals find the correct phone or computer. Alex was thrilled with riding roller coasters and going to theme parks with family and friends. He enjoyed playing games and cards with family and friends in person and virtually. Alex looked forward to watching movies, and building and collecting Legos. He had an easygoing spirit and was easily loved. Alex will be greatly missed by all who loved and had the privilege of knowing him.

Survivors include his parents, Barry and Cheryl Jones of Kokomo; siblings, Andrew and Sarah Jones of Carmel, Michael and Alycia Hatfield of Westfield, and Jerry and Ashlyn Boyd of Indianapolis; grandparents, Jim and Eileen Pore of Tipton; nephews, Drew, John Peter, Titus, and niece, Elizabeth Jones; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11 am in Trinity Baptist Church Carmel, 1010 E 126th Street, Carmel.
