Alberta Brooks Richmond, of Kokomo, was born October 12, 1927, being 96 years of age, departed this life November 21, 2023. She was born in Clio, KY, the daughter of Shelby and Effie (Trammell) Brooks.
She loved spending time reading her Bible and devotionals, as well as watching tv, and listening to gospel music and preaching. Alberta loved all types of flowers, particularly her Christmas cactus.
In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Floyd J. Richmond; daughter, Sandra Richmond; five brothers; Alvey, Carl, Bill, Junior, and Charles Brooks; and sister, Bonnie Watkins.
Alberta leaves behind to cherish her memories, one daughter, Sherri (Steve) Belcher of Fountain Hills, AZ; bonus son, DeWayne (Karen) Richmond of Kokomo, IN; four grandchildren, Melany Philpot and Chanda Deaton (Jeff Trett) of Kokomo, IN; Holly (Michael) Marciano of Fort Myers, FL and Shon (Kirsten) Belcher of South Africa; five great grandchildren, Ronald Shelby (Amanda) Siler, Emily Siler, Alex (Ashley) Siler, Josh (Hillary) Marciano, and Colby (Hannah) Marciano; seven great-great grandchildren, Aubrey Christian, Aliviah and Meredith Siler, Noah Siler, Ryder, Archer, and Asher Marciano; and brother, Bob (Betty) Brooks of London, KY. Along with a host of family and friends to mourn her passing.
Family and friends will gather Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 1pm in Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo where the Funeral Service will begin at 2 pm.
Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.
