Wayne Elbert Lucore

Wayne Lucore, 92 of Westfield, IN, passed away September 21, 2019.  He was born on an Angus cattle ranch in Arriba, CO, on May 1, 1927, son of Alonzo and Bessie (Switzer) Lucore. 

Wayne attended McPherson College in KS, University of Denver in CO, and Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Business Administration.

Following World War II, Wayne worked in postwar relief in Italy for two years and served as Vice Present of a trucking company in Denver for 24 years, as well as Executive Director of the Alaska Carriers Association for 10 years. 

Wayne enjoyed traveling, collecting stamps, and researching genealogy.

In 2009, Wayne moved to IN to be close to family living at the Stratford Retirement Community.

Survivors include 4 daughters; many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Wayne's Life will be held by close family in lieu of a funeral. 

In memory of Wayne, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, as he had a special experience with this organization.
