Virginia Louise Bradley, 98, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018. She was born on May 13, 1919 in Whitestown, IN, daughter of Alva and Esther Huffman West.
Virginia enjoyed spending time in her flower garden. She was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and worked as the church secretary for several years. Virginia has left a legacy of kindness and a caring, giving heart toward others. She served as a volunteer at both Riley Children’s Hospital and Indiana University Hospital.
In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by first husband, Maurice Melvin Bradley in 1997, and good friend and companion, Bill Ballard in 2012, and grandson, Mark Aaron Scobee in 2011.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Lee Parker and Mary Lou (Wayne) Sheehan; grandchildren, Timothy Patrick Parker (wife, Amy Donella Parker), Carrie Cathleen Parker Green (husband, Jason Alan Green), Tamra Lynn Scobee Kercheval (husband, Kent Eric Kercheval), Robert Darren Scobee (wife, Sheridan Page Scobee); great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Cathleen Parker, William Allen Parker, Katherine Ann Parker, Emily Claire Parker, Parker Alan Green, Jacob Knox Green, Eric Joseph Winebrenner, Megan Lynn Scobee Montgomery, Ryan Kenneth Scobee, Brandon Kent Kercheval, Bradley Eric Kercheval, Benjamin Lee Kercheval, Baylee Lynn Kercheval, Morgan Blake Scobee, Alexandra Blair Scobee Wilson; great-great-grandchildren, Lilith Erin Winebrenner, Everly Mora Winebrenner, Emily Ray Montgomery, Hazel Irene Kercheval, Oliver Joel Kercheval; sisters, Helen Sutphin of Lebanon and Norma Book of Muncie.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. in Bethel United Methodist Church, 5252 W. 52nd Street, Indianapolis, where the Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
In memory of Virginia, contributions may be given to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, 705, Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Envelopes will be available at the service.
