Sandra Sue Richmond Deaton, 71, of Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 4, 2018. She was born March 7, 1947 in London, KY, daughter of Floyd and Alberta Brooks Richmond.
Sandra had a love for gospel music, dogs, bird watching, gardening, shopping, and antiquing. Among her favorite past times, she enjoyed spending time with family and special cousin, Marsha White, reading the Bible as well as the “Upper Room”. Sandra was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt who loved, honored and served Christ in everything she did. Her favorite Bible verse was Luke 11:2-4.
Sandra was preceded in death by her loving and devoted father, Floyd Richmond and best friend, Molly her Silky Terrier.
Survivors include her mother, Alberta Brooks Richmond of Kokomo, IN; sister, Sherri (Steve) Belcher of Fountain Hills, AZ; daughters, Melany Philpot of Kokomo, IN, Chanda (Jeff) Trett of Kokomo, IN and Holly (Michael) Marciano of Ft Myers, FL; 5 grandchildren, Ron, Emily, and Alex of Lafayette, Joshua (Hilary) and Colby of Ft Myers; great-granddaughter, Aubrey; nephew, Shon (Kirsten) Belcher of Venezuela; and a host of family and friends.
A Committal Service will be held Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 12:30 pm in Albright Cemetery, Kokomo, IN.
A private family visitation was held in Shirley and Stout Funeral Home, Kokomo, IN.
Pall Bearers assisting are Alex, Ron, Michael, Steve, Jeff, Colby and Joshua. Honorary pall bearers are Shon Belcher and Emily Siler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Sandra, may be given to the Kokomo Humane Society or the American Diabetes Association.
The family of Sandra would like to thank the staff and physicians of Howard Community Hospital for the love, support and care given to our mother. Also, a special thanks to the Chaplains at Howard Community Hospital for their kind words of comfort during this difficult time.
Donna Bussell, another special cousin, of Bussell Family Funerals, Carmel-Westfield, was privileged to assist the family in arrangements.
