Robert "Bob" Joseph Berding

Robert “Bob” Joseph Berding, 68, of Noblesville, passed away August 31, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Chicago, IL on July 21, 1951, son of Wilbur and Jean Estak Berding.

In 1973, Bob received his Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation from Lewis University, Lockport, IL, where he earned a wrestling scholarship and was a member of the Alpha Eta Rho Professional Aviation Fraternity.

Bob had a strong work ethic beginning as Manager with PPG Industries before continuing as Field Sales Engineer with Product Identification Corporation in Chicago, IL.  Other companies Bob worked for in Sales Management, were Industrial Tool Division, Houston, TX; Thermotron Industries, Holland, MI; SPX Corporation, White Deer, PA; ATC, Indianapolis, IN and Illinois Tool Works in Lakeville, MN.

As a Catholic High School Youth Minister for 36 years, Bob was humbled and rewarded with the many relationships built through the years. He enjoyed working with stain glass, creating a beautiful stain glass window for his home. Bob also spent time in his woodworking shop where he crafted special and unique pieces.

Bob was a committed and faithful Parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and was actively involved in Knights of Columbus where he was awarded the Fourth Degree.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by a son, Gregory Berding; father-in-law, Delbert Barr and mother-in-law, Bernice Barr.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Brenda Berding; son, Joseph (Michelle) Berding; grandson, Evan Berding; granddaughter, Ella Berding; sisters, Carol Schleffendorf and Linda (Rey) Olbeira; and stepmother, Mary Berding.

Family and friends will gather on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 4-7 pm in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church as well as Tuesday, September 10, at 10 am.  The Memorial Mass will be conducted in the church at 11 am, September 10.

In memory of Bob, donations may be directed to the OLMC Antioch Youth Ministry.  Envelopes will be available at the church.
