I was shocked & saddened to hear of Murieta's passing. Murieta used to go out of her way to give me a ride to law school every morning our 1st year together. I was a struggling, single mother with no transportation, and I will forever be deeply moved by her kindness & selflessness that she extended to me and others. I am praying for her family & her loved ones. May GOD surround you with my love, peace and faith during this difficult time.

In Loving Memory of my Dear Cousin Murieta: There are no words to express the depth of my sadness upon learning of my dear Cousin Murieta's sudden passing. Murieta's kindness and her love always shone through each time we met. Our times together were too short and too few, and too far in between, yet she always made the most of them with her genuine greetings, her sincere inquiries about others, and her warm hugs and laughter. We had often exchanged emails about our love for the LORD and our gratitude for HIS goodness and HIS salvation. Those remembered messages are now all the more precious to me. Until we all meet again at the final culmination of time, Murieta will live on in our hearts. With all my love and deepest condolences, Cousin Gail V. Black

All I can say is wow. Just Saturday it was placed in my spirit to find Murieta...little did I know that God had called her into his bosom and I would not connect with her on this side. Murieta was in the 2001 class of Indiana CLEO and was by default deemed one of my babies as this was my first class in this position. She was was excited to take the next step in her career in law school and I Was blessed to be a part of her experience. I can still remember the double celebration that occurred when she graduated from law school and her son graduated from school as well. The road was by no means easy but she remained steadfast and a light to others in the midst of it all. The joy she had and the Love she brought to others could only be explained because of who we know that God is and as we all process and grieve the loss of such a wonderful person let us remain hopeful they God will comfort us all just as he poured into Murieta allowing her to be such a blessing to so many. My prayers will remain with Vincent and the boys (men) as they grieve.

My beautiful cousin, Murieta, how we will miss your presence and strength in this family. We spoke not long ago about you joining the half century club with me. The big 5-0! Well, you made it before you were ushered home. God, please take care of our beautiful angel, until we meet again.

Oh, how the Lord has called such a beautiful and precious soul! How I long to see her smile and feel her hug just one more time! I met Murieta when I joined a women's group at Trader's Point; she was our table leader. She was a gift to me as I had come to that table in such despair as I was facing incredible pain through a divorce filled with abandonment and betrayal. This precious woman comforted me, got angry along side me, and prayed for me. I specifically remember a time several years ago when I locked myself in my bathroom with my bible, crying uncontrollably - I didn't think I could go on any longer. I let my bible fall open and in front of my eyes were the pages of Psalm 91:1! Yes, the Holy Spirit enabled me to dial an emergency call to the Lord. While the tears continued to stain the pages of God's word, I contacted Murieta (it was an email or text). She was the first person I wanted to run to and let her know what had happened. Shortly after, she responded with such beautiful words of prayer and encouragement. It was her bringing Glory to our God as we are put here on earth to do and she did this so lovingly. I last ran into Murieta at the TPCC women's conference and we hugged for a long time. I introduced her to my two daughters and she told them the story I just shared. I couldn't believe after three years she remembered! And, just a few days ago I walked into a new life group at Trader's to be greeted by another beautiful african american woman who is to be our table leader. I could not help but feel the warmth of Murieta's soul again at my table! And, to hear today that she has left us is just heartwrenching to me! To her family: I am so grateful for the time I had with this amazing godly woman - cut much too short. But, I will await in great anticipation of being reconnected with my precious friend. Thank you for sharing her with those of us who have been touched by her presence.

My heart is so heavy. It's hard hearing younger sweet relative has passed. I have to believe that we are here on The Fathers time, not our own to make this bearable. I send my love and prayers to the family. Love you all.
