Kathryn C. Hoffman 68, of Fishers, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018. She was born on August 6, 1950 in Indianapolis, IN, the second child of Ed and Lee Clendenin.
With her determined personality, she graduated from Ball State University in 1972 with a degree in finance. She went on to have a trailblazing and successful more than 30 year career in various accounting and finance departments with companies such as RCA, Thompson, Square D, and most recently INPRS from where she recently retired earlier this year. She had the respect of all of her peers and due to her tall stature, she jokingly earned the nick-name “Big Bird” for her ability to easily look over the office partitions.
An avid “fan” of her kids, Kathy made a point to never miss a game or big event. She enjoyed spending time with her close extended friend group at events such as poker club, yearly pilgrimages to the Indianapolis 500, monthly Margarita Fridays, and much, much more. Kathy found peace and comfort as a member of Church at the Crossing.
Since 2002, Kathy fought valiantly against cancer. And through years of chemotherapy, hair loss, and weakness she never had a bad day and was always able to find humor and joy in her life, remaining inspiringly upbeat and positive for her friends and loved ones.
Kathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of more than 40 years Eugene “Gene” Hoffman whom she met one fateful night at a disco; sons Nicholas Hoffman (Cicely), Alex Hoffman (Molly), and David Hoffman (Melissa); grandchildren Max Hoffman, Cooper Hoffman, and Adelynn Hoffman; and siblings Edward F. Clendenin Jr. (Pat) and Janice L. Collins.
With clearly understood wishes, Kathy’s life celebration will be held at her residence on Saturday, October 6 from 1-4pm. Contact Gene or one of his & Kathy's sons for address information.
