James G. Williams, Sr, age 82, of Fishers, passed away peacefully in his home December 29, 2019. He was born December of 1937 in Indianapolis, son of James H. and Dorothy M. Williams.
Jim was a proud veteran of the US Navy. Following his discharge from the Navy, Jim returned to Indianapolis where he pursued a career in Heating & Air Conditioning. This was the beginning of him starting his own business: Williams Comfort Air, Inc., which he owned and operated for 45 years.
As a devoted member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church, Jim faithfully served as Trustee, usher and was actively involved with the Sr. Saints and their many activities. He enjoyed boating, golfing and “thumping tires” on RV’s and other vehicles. Jim was also a pilot and flew small engine planes.
More than anything, Jim loved spending time with his wife and family.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Williams.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Carrie I. Williams; daughter, Kelly Williams and son, James G. (Brenda) Williams, Jr.; grandchildren, Meaghann Williams, Kyle (Allison) Williams, Kelsey (Ben) Sullivan, Karly Williams, and Kamry Williams; one great-grandchild, Lydia H. Sullivan; brother, A. Wallace (Mary Ann) Williams and sister, Cindy (Charles) Sorrell.
Family and Friends will gather on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 4-7 pm in Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Also, Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 10 am with the funeral service beginning at 11 am in the Church.
In memory of Jim, contributions may be given to Colonial Hills Baptist Church, Missions Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church.
