James Grubaugh

James F. Grubaugh, 82 of Carmel, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family. He was born on May 1, 1930 in Beecher City, IL to the late Grover and Lola Kramer Grubaugh. Jim worked as a Masonry Contractor. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.

Jim was an avid golfer having achieved the Hole in One award. He also was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts. Jim enjoyed working with stained glass and has created many beautiful pieces. Jim was an all around outdoorsman. Memberships included the NRA and Sunrise Golf League.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by 5 brothers, 4 sisters and a grandson, Alex. He is survived by his wife Sharon Grubaugh; son, Kent (Kelly); daughter, Julie (Brad) Karcher; grandchildren, Jimmy Grubaugh, Megan Grubaugh, Max Karcher, Mikaela Karcher; great-grandchildren, Jolene and Jack; brother, Glen Grubaugh; sister, Faye Strange; 2 dogs, Coco and Katie and a grand-dog Pepper.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 11 a.m. until service time at 1:30 p.m. in Central Christian Church, 1242 W 136th Street, of which Jim was a longtime member. Burial will follow in Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville. The family request memorial gifts be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, 1721 Pleasant St Ste B, Noblesville, 46060-3621 or St Vincent Hospice, 8402 Harcourt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260. Envelopes will be available at the church.
